Helping You Find Alternative Methods of Dispute Resolution, Including Mediation and Arbitration
If you are a party in a lawsuit, it may be preferable to avoid the time, cost, and publicity associated with litigation. Alternative methods of dispute resolution like negotiation, mediation and arbitration, can allow you to have more control over the outcome of your dispute, while simultaneously reducing costs and negative exposure.
We understand that the best solutions often come from alternative methods of dispute resolution (ADR). We are trained mediators, having attended the Strauss Institute at Pepperdine Law School, and two of our lawyers serve as arbitrators in Orange County. To learn more about how we can help you, contact our office or call us at 714-634-1777.
Our Mediation Practice
If you have decided that mediation may be an effective way to resolve your legal dispute, we can act as a mediator. We will be a neutral third party, working with both of you to find mutually acceptable ways to settle your differences. We won't decide the matter for you, but will instead help you and the other parties identify ways to solve your dispute without the intervention of the court. If you come to an agreement, we will assist you in formalizing your agreement.
In our experience, mediation provides both parties the ability to get what they need, as the process is driven by and under the control of the parties. We strongly encourage our clients to consider mediation as a viable alternative to litigation.
Our Arbitration Practice
Unlike mediation, arbitration involves a neutral third party, the arbitrator, who listens to testimony and legal arguments and renders a decision based on the evidence presented. Arbitration can either be binding (enforceable by a court of law) or non-binding, depending on the agreement of the parties. Although arbitration is similar to litigation, it often provides for a quicker resolution and may be more cost-efficient. Our attorneys have extensive experience as arbitrators or mediators in any type of dispute where one party is seeking money damages from another party.
